Between Balboa Island and the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach, the dog-friendly Historic Balboa Island Ferry provides continuous service for drivers and passengers in vehicles, bikes, pedestrians, and dogs. The distance between the crossings is around 800 feet. An alternate route can be taken through bridges, however the travel distance will increase by up to six miles.
