People and animals from all around Wisconsin can learn, develop, and find sanctuary at the HAWS Schallock Center for Animals, which also houses nature and animal therapists. A private dog park, family activities, youth education, pet respite, pet training, and much more are all provided by HAWS.

Rescue Outreach, Inc.

We are a team of neighborhood animal rescues dedicated to preserving animal life. Hazard and Harlan, both in Kentucky, are the locations of the shelters from which these animals are being rescued. These are mountain cities that have a LOW adoption rate and a HIGH kill rate. In order to make room for new intake, they were forced to EUTHANIZE more than 60 cats and kittens in September 2017. We came to the realization that there IS anything we can do to change things at this point. We got in touch with Starfish Animal Rescue to try and stop this awful incident. Starfish transports animals from these rural locations to secure, devoted rescues and homes in collaboration with neighborhood rescues.
