Our journey begins in Boulder, Colorado, in 2002, a haven for those who live a natural lifestyle (including for their pets). My wife and I have always been animal lovers, and we used to have a huge family of rescue animals, including a St. Bernard named Ralphie and a cat named P.C. (also known as "Perfect Cat"). We have always read pet food labels very carefully, as have many other pet parents. We wanted to feed our pets only food and treats made in the United States because of safety and quality concerns. We were dissatisfied with the quality of available pet treats and refused to offer our pets anything with an ingredient list that required a chemical degree to comprehend.
