When the Animal Medical Center of Charlottesville first welcomed "all creatures great and small" in April 1993, there was only Dr. Bray and one receptionist/technician on staff. All animals were cared after, including cats, dogs, llamas, horses, cattle, sheep, goats, chickens, and exotic species. It was an unusual period when we would spend the mornings in the clinic caring for our smaller patients and the afternoons in the country tending to our larger patients. However, it quickly became apparent that there just weren't enough hours in the day to provide such a wide range of services, so we made the choice to restrict our specialized services to patients with tiny animals.
